The unofficial motto of Writing 465 is Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part. So it's important that you maintain good communications with the instructor and your classmates. This information will help you do so.

Classmate Contact Information To protect student privacy I will distribute this information in class.
Class distribution list Remember that messages sent to the distribution list go to EVERYONE on it!

This list is automatically created by Winthrop Information Management after the first class day. It  uses your POBOX address. If you do not use your POBOX mail, you must log into POBOX and set the forwarding address to whatever e-mail address you use. (For POBOX mail help, click here.) If your name does not appear on the distribution list, you can subscribe manuallyYou are responsible for getting and responding to all messages sent on the official class discussion list; check it at least before every class.

Class profiles To protect privacy, I will give the URL for this information to you in class.
Groups We will be working in online and face-to-face groups for some assignments. Membership in groups will be announced.
Submitting Work by E-mail I accept some assignments as e-mails or e-mail attachments; the individual assignments will tell you what assignments require hard copy. When I receive an assignment from you, I will send you an e-mail acknowledgment message. If you do not get that message within 24 hours of submitting the assignment, please check with me to ensure I received it and that it's not floating somewhere out in cyberspace, longing vainly to be read.
Sharing Files Some of the assignments in Writing 465 will require you to share files with each other. You are responsible for making sure that 1) any files you send or receive are virus-checked and 2) any files you send or receive are in a format that your classmates can use. Follow these instructions for sharing drafts.
