COURSE DESCRIPTION:  ECON 103 provides an introduction to the economic study of a variety of important social issues.  Economic concepts are presented and applied to macroeconomic and microeconomic situations.   The Constitutional foundation of the American economy is explored and illustrated through the issues covered in the course.

COURSE PREREQUISITE:  None.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:  The objectives of the course are the following:

1      To give students an understanding of basic economic concepts.

2.        To apply those concepts to a variety of social issues.

3.        To have students develop the ability to apply economic reasoning to macroeconomic and microeconomic situations.

4.        To give students an appreciation of the rights and privileges provided by the U.S. Constitution and how the provisions of the Constitution establish the framework in which our economic system has developed.
