JOURNAL INSTRUCTIONS

Economics 316: Macroeconomic Analysis
Dr. Stonebraker

You will keep a current event journal of news articles related to macroeconomic issues (the articles need not focus on the U.S.).  Starting with the third week of the semester (January 28), you must collect 12 articles over the next ten weeks (ending April 11).  No more than two articles should be selected in any one week. You may photocopy articles from newspapers or magazines or print them from the Internet.

CONTENT:
Your journal should consist of a folder that includes a copy of each article (in chronological order) along with a brief summary in your own words of the content.  A typical summary might be about 1/2 of a page long.

GRADING:
The journal will count as 10% of the course grade.  The grade will be based upon the relevance of the articles and the quality of your summaries.

DATES:

The journal must be submitted no later than the end of class on Thursday, April 17.  You will lose one letter grade from the journal for each day that it is late.
