Management 321

Instructor: Jim Olson
Jim Olson fought on both sides of the battle for dominance in the North American auto industry. He spent 16 years at Ford Motor Company, rising to middle management, and 19 years at Toyota, rising to senior vice president of the company’s North American holding company in New York City before retiring in 2004. He is now the Executive in Residence at Winthrop University’s College of Business Administration, where he is trying to pass some of his experience on to the next generation of managers. He, his wife, his son, two horses, six dogs, one cat and assorted pigs and chickens live on a farm near Rock Hill, South Carolina, where they raise flowers, vegetables and havoc.
