Country Fact Sheet
DUE SEPTEMBER 24
The country case
study fact sheet serves two purposes 1) it allows you to familiarize yourself
with your country through a neutral source 2) with the information you gain
about your country, and with the information you learn in our course, you can
begin to work out your thesis statement.
Part 1: Thesis
At the top of page one you must underline a working thesis you have developed for your country. You should look through your book and notes to determine what country and what concept you may be interested in exploring more closely.
A thesis statement makes an argument that you
will work to prove or disprove in your paper. It should be based on one of the
concepts from our class. A thesis statement makes an argument. An
argument involves logical reasoning, scientific research, and empirical
evidence; it is not a mere opinion. Your thesis statement should be one sentence long. You may include
some explanatory text about your thesis if you choose.
This is a working
thesis, i.e. a first attempt. I will make comments on your thesis. You should
adjust it accordingly afterward and follow up with me if you have additional
questions. **If you decide to change your thesis completely after this, you
must show me your new thesis.
Part 2: Country information
