LAB1B Enterprise/SPSS:

 

SAS Enterprise-is a user friendly interface for SAS that requires no programming but utilizes “point and
 click” logic. We will learn gain entry to enterprise, save data and retrieve data.

I) Enter Enterprise 4.2

 

Go to programs:

>stats and math applications
  >sas enterprise guide

>new data
   @Name <data"you"L1>
   @Library
         >click work

hit  "next"
 

II) Creating format for Data Entry

Click A
@name: <Height>
@Label:<inches>
@Type: scroll click <numeric>

Creating Format for the second variable

Click B
@name: <gender>
@Label: <Male/Female>
@Type: scroll click <chararacter>

X/delete-C,D,E,F (on left)

Hit "Finish"

 

III) Enter  Data

Simply enter height and gender data in the spread sheet.

(delete extra rows if need also)

IV) Save as Project

>File
    click export
     save data to Pin Drive

Get out of enterprise overall

V) Retrieve the Project

Get Back in to enterprise (see I) and open data file that you named.


IBM-SPSS is another common point and click statistical analysis program used in the social sciences

I) Enter SPSS        (page 1-5, Cronk)

Go to programs:

>stats and math applications
  >IBM-SPSS

>new data
hit  "next"
 

II) Creating format for Data Entry

>Variable View Tab

@Name type <gender> 
@Values  value <1> label <male>   add  <2> label <female>    add okay
@Measure scroll  <nominal>

@Name type <height>
@Measure scroll scale

III) Enter  Data

>Data View Tab

Simply enter height and gender data in the spread sheet.

IV) Save as Project

>File
    click save
     save data to Pin Drive

Get out of SPSS overall

V) Retrieve the Project

Get Back in to  SPSS and open data file that you named.
