Re:        Progress Report for High School Mentoring Program

This is a progress report regarding the completion of my major project on the feasibility of implementing a mentorship program for teen girls.

Work Completed

After introducing my feasibility study to you, I researched all programs associated with children in the community and their structure.  On October 10, I had an interview with Ms. Lee, City Council member, to discuss the feasibility of my mentorship program.  Ms. Lee suggested the idea of making the mentorship program a part of the local high school and to conduct a more distinctive approach to the areas that I would focus on. On October 13, I revised my survey in terms of its clarity and structure. On October 20, I completed my inquiry letter, and addressed it to Mr. Green, the principal of the local high school.

The research took longer than anticipated which called for adjusting my original schedule. Because I decided to propose my feasibility study to the local high school, I plan to have my surveys completed and analyzed earlier which makes up for the time spent conducting more research.

Work in Progress

On October 27, I plan to mail my inquiry letter to the principal of the local high school and schedule an appointment for an interview.  Additionally, I plan to schedule a time to survey the girls of the high school and set up another meeting with the principal to discuss the results of my survey.

Changing my idea from focusing on the entire community to the local high school, has pushed back the dates in the original schedule but has decreased the amount of time needed to gather survey data which has made up for it.

Work Remaining

All surveys and interviews are scheduled to be done by November 10. I also plan to have analyzed the data from my surveys to create a PowerPoint presentation to present to Mr. Green of the high school and make a conclusion of my feasibility study.  I have added more time in the revised schedule to make last minute changes to the project if needed.  Such changes give me reason to believe that the remaining scheduled deadlines will be met.
