Portfolio entry 1: Description of yourself as a reader, writer, and researcher

In a 2-page word-processed, double-spaced, Times Roman 12-pt. or Calibri 11-pt. font explain how you see yourself as a writer, reader, and researcher. Use the following questions to guide you in your planning and discussion.

Reader	Do you read much? Do you like to read? Why or why not? What do you like to read? Why?
Writer	Do you like to write? Why or why not? What is your experience with academic writing? What are your strengths? Where do you need to improve? Describe your writing process.
Researcher	When given an assignment requiring research, how do you approach it? What do you do? How comfortable are you with using library databases such as Academic Search Complete or Academic Onefile among others?
Bringing it together	How do your reading and writing habits/attitudes relate to one another?—How does one affect the other? What do you expect from this course?

You need not answer every question. These are just to help direct your thinking about your answer to the question. Be sure that when you write, you divide your response into coherent and cohesive paragraphs. Although this assignment is not a formal essay, it still needs to be written professionally, using standard American English and correct grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
