This is the text of the ending of the Parson's Prologue in
The Riverside Chaucer (ed. Larry D. Benson et al.) [Boston: Houghton, 1988].
As you can see, there are no notes indicating why the line order has been
preserved as it is.
These are the notes in the remote "Textual Notes" section.
The interpretative notes are in the "Explanatory Notes" section before this;
there no mention whatsoever is made of the arguments for why these lines are
displaced. Here there is no justification for the line sequence, only a mention
of what several other editors have done.
