HONR 202H
Conference Instructions
1. Please be on time and be prepared. If for some reason you cannot make your conference, call me at the office (803-323-4557) or e-mail me and let me know in advanced of your scheduled time.
2. Bring at minimum the following
a. an outline of your proposed paper—zero or working drafts are also welcome
b. results of your primary research (even if incomplete)
c. a working bibliography of at least ten items that you have looked at.
3. Be prepared to discuss where you think the paper is going, what problems you are having with it (organizing, finding material, focusing, etc.—I can’t help with things like "not enough time" or "haven’t started yet" other than to say, well, who’s in control of those things?)
4. Bring a list of questions or concerns that you have
If you come prepared for the conference you will get a lot more out of it than if you just come in with a backpack or notebook of loose material (or less) and flop down in the office. Your success on this project is governed a lot more by you than by me, so act accordingly.
