Diagnostic Memo Assignment

For class next time (8/26 for TR class, 8/30 for MW class) you should prepare a memo that introduces yourself to Dr. K and your fellow class members. Include such information as the following:

• Background: Your major, activities, work experience, etc.
• Career Objectives: The kind of position you're looking for as a starter job, where you hope to be in five years, what area(s) of the country or world you'd like to work in, etc.
• Course Goals: Aside from completing a writing-intensive and oral-intensive course that is probably required for you to graduate, what do you hope to get out of this course? What aspects do you expect to find hardest and most manageable? What kinds of stories have you heard about 465?
• Special Strengths and Weaknesses: What kinds of special strengths and weaknesses do you bring to the class? Are you good with computers? Do you faint at the thought of standing up and speaking in public? Are you a good group facilitator? etc.

The memo should be about 500 words long. Prepare it in Microsoft Word, save it in .rtf format, and bring it to class on diskette or e-mail it to me as an attachment. I will be uploading these for a class profile page. Be prepared to have your picture taken electronically in class  for that page.
