SUBJECT: Pricing Structure for Salad Bar Items

After we introduced a salad bar at the Columbus Avenue cafeteria, many of you complained that the fixed price was unfair to those who took smaller salads.
When we responded by instituting a "per ounce" price that included the weight of our salad bowls, a few people tried to beat the system by using non-standard
containers for your salads. This is not fair to those employees who use the appropriate salad bowls.

Therefore, we’ve instituted the following policy: Until the manufacturer can adjust the scales to eliminate the bowl weight, cashiers will not accept any salads in
non-standard containers. Once the scales can compensate for bowl weight, we’ll adjust the per-ounce price of salads to cover our costs.

McDonald’s is across the street for those of you who don’t like this policy.
