American Red Cross

Mission: Provides 24-hour assistance to disaster victims and military personnel, and teaches safety courses (CPR, standard first aid, HIV/AIDS, water safety, babysitting).  The chapter collects blood for use at the local hospital and other hospitals.

Volunteer Needs: Help with clerical work and blood mobiles, teach health and safety classes, provide community disaster education, and work in all other program areas.

Volunteer Needs: Serve as tutors and mentors for students, and huggers and rocker for nursery.  Need volunteers to help with fundraisers, field trips and special events (food/decorations).  Help during lunch hours in the daycare (11:30 – 2:30) is always needed.

 

America Reads and Counts Challenge

Volunteer Needs: Help with “Girl Power”, a mentoring program consisting of teaching a life skills and drug prevention curriculum to young adolescent girls at the Boys and Girls Clubs.
