NOTE:  Shakespeare conflates the two Edmund Mortimers in red:  the son of Roger Mortimer (whom R2 appointed to be the next king) and the brother of Elizabeth (Kate in 1H4).  Confusion in Holinshed's Chronicles may have been at the root of this conflation, but it helped Shakespeare create a more economical story.
