Make-Up Work   Writing 101   Spring 2009

Eligibility for make-up work will be determined on a individual basis by the instructor.  Students who have missed more than one response may be asked to provide documentation explaining their absence.  All students may make up 2 responses without documentation.

Response 2     Write an essay explaining how the close of “Once More To the Lake” 533  works.  The close is the last paragraph of the essay. Include the following in your discussion.

Write your response as an essay.

Response 3   Write an essay explaining the style of the paragraph on 678.  The essay begins “The water in the pools . . . .”  Include the following in your discussion.

1. Give a sentence count.

2. Give a words in sentence count.

3. Give the total number of words in the paragraph.

4. Explain the writer’s use of details/images.

Write your response as an essay.

Response 4  Write an essay explaining how the close “Blindness” 377 works.  The close is the last two paragraphs of the essay.  Include the following in your discussion.

1. explain the use of images

2. connect the close with the rest of the essay.

Write your response as an essay.

Failure to follow any of these instructions for 2,3,& 4 will lead to a grade of F on the response. 

Due  April 22   Wednesday   MW class

Due  April 23    Thursday      TR class

One letter grade will be deducted for each day a response is late.
