Welcome to CRTW 201! You've made it to Dr. DeRochi's webpage for the Fall 2010 Session of CRTW 201.
This webpage will be
continually updated as the session progresses. Please refer to this page
continually because dates and assignments sometimes change through the course of
the term.
We will be using three Web interfaces for this course: WebCT, which will be
used primarily for quizzes and "chatting" (and for which you have already been
assigned a password and login id); turnitin.com, which we
will be using for attendance and all grading; and Facebook, which we will be
using for a specific blog exercise throughout the semester.
Here is our
SYLLABUS for CRTW 201. Please note how
the larger projects are not simply pursued
in class; instead, they're completely dependent on your effort. Just like
a golf swing,
or an ability to shoot a basketball or knit a sweater, critical thinking is a
skill not a product. The amount you gain from this course is in direct proportion to
your effort.
Here is our WORKING SCHEDULE, again
noting that assignments may change through
the course of the semester.
From this page, you will be able to access assignments and handouts.
It is, after all, CRTW,
not just CTW. Here are some suggestions for better
Critical Reading.
Students should read and own the "Correct
Use of Borrowed Information."
