The subject of the paper and presentation can be any topic related to this course. A student might want to survey a variety of customer management tools and compare their prices and features. A student might want to research the level of broadband penetration in the US compared to other major economies and then analyze levels of online shopping in those markets to determine if those two factors are possibly related. If a student found the privacy aspect of the course interesting, that student might choose to further investigate the evolution of privacy policies on online shopping sites. A student might want to survey commercial tools that facilitate teamwork and information sharing via the internet. A student may want to investigate the costs of creating a virtual private network. A marketing student might want to investigate strategies for selecting and pricing terms in Adwords.
The paper should be 6 to 12 pages. Double spaced; 12-point times-roman font; 1 inch margins; at least 3 different sources of information; standard format for references. The presentation should take only 5 to 8 minutes. Obviously, that means the paper will contain far more information that the presentation and the presentation will be just a summary of what you found.
