The Writing Center is a relaxed and informal place where you can talk about your writing with a trained and experienced writing consultant.  We have helped students, faculty, staff, and administrators with their writing.  We look forward to helping you!

To make an appointment, call 803-323-2138 (we cannot make appointments on e-mail); walk-ins can be helped if a consultant is free.  When you come to the Center, please bring a copy of the assignment, your textbook, and anything you have written.

We had more than 3900 appointments last year and helped many Winthrop students improve their writing and their classroom performance.  Come take advantage of our services!  If you have any questions, contact Dr. Jane B. Smith, Director, at 323-4587 or at smithjb@winthrop.edu.
